CRI - Crime reduction initiatives 2010-2014

Crime Reduction Initiatives (CRI) was a charitable organisation operating in the United Kingdom, particularly in London, focusing on reducing crime and supporting individuals affected by substance misuse and related issues. I ran a photography group for over 4 years connecting with offenders weekly to take part in a storytelling journey around the streets of London and leading to a large scale montage from over 12 individuals commited to the course. I will always remember this quote from one participant,  " you know, you've given me a new set of eyes, I have walked down these same streets in Camden my whole life and now with a camera somehow it's like everything is new". Through this project we restored faih in creativity, self confidence, community action and overall in terms of being seen and heard as it was shown as part of the Amy Whinehouse Foundation event.
