Roundhouse Theatre, Youth Support Worker

We don't just put on unforgettable gigs and performances. Every ticket purchased helps us empower young people with affordable opportunities for ages 11-30 in music, media, performing arts and professional development.

Working at such a prestige venue like Roundhouse was always exciting. Not many people were aware that undeneath the main stage was a huge charity young program and full fitted music studios with everything you needed to explore theatre, dance, circus, music and more! My role was split between delivering workshops and pastoral support to young people. Promoting positive behaviour amongst all young people engaging with the Roundhouse through clarifying ground rules and boundaries was key. We worked together with alot of schools where they never had such opportunities before and outreach community centres, Pupil Referral Units and street festivals. They encourage emerging artists and support some of the best upcoming talent you can imagine. Giving young people a route in, especially from our outreach program was just pure gold to the young people taking part.  Check them out!
